13-Year-Old Singer Gets Golden Buzzer on ‘America’s Got Talent’ For Her Emotional Performance

The judges of America’s Got Talent have begun the last set of auditions and are growing pickier than ever, but 13-year-old Angelina Green won Heidi Klum over with her singing. The judge had been holding back on handing out her Golden Buzzer – the final of the season- but was inspired to do so after hearing the young girl sing the Pretenders’ “I’ll Stand By You”.

Before she sang, Angelina was asked how long she has been singing and she responded “forever”. She confessed she began in earnest after her parents divorced. “I took it seriously when my parents got divorced. It was really hard for me, and music helped me so much,” Angelina tearfully said.

She dedicated her song to her proud mom, who watched her in the wings of the stage.

Afterwards, Simon Cowell told the young girl, “I think you’ve got a great voice. This is one of my favorite auditions of today. You’ve made my goosebumps have goosebumps. The truth is, we don’t get many people like you for a reason because they’re hard to find. Genuinely I’m excited because I think you’re so talented.”
