Hilarious ‘All About That Spay’ Video Champions Spay/Neuter Programs For Pets

When the film industry was celebrating the Oscars this year, the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) decided to host their own award show for videos made by, you guessed it, veterinarians and those in veterinary medicine.

Coined the “Vetties”, people could vote for their favorite submitted videos through social media. The winning video is from Nolan River Animal Hospital in Cleburne, Texas and is called “All About That Spay”. It’s a funny parody of Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” and highlights why spaying and neutering pets is important to combat pet overpopulation.

Although spaying and neutering can be a controversial subject, unplanned litters are the main source of pet overpopulation. Stray pets often produce multiple litters every year and around 35% of U.S. households do not spay or neuter their pets. That’s about 60 million pets who can breed and produce millions more puppies and kittens every year!

I think the vet clinic does a great job making such a heavy topic fun and educational. Check out their video below and share it with your friends.
