9-Year-Old Girl Shows Why She Is Considered A Musical Prodigy On The Harp

Although the harp is considered a technically difficult instrument to master, this young girl is already leaving listeners awestruck by her talent.

Alisa Sadikova was just 9 years old when she stepped onstage on December 12, 2012 at the XIII International Winter Festival at the Small Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonia to play ‘The Fountain’ by Marcel Lucien Grandjany.

As you’ll see in this video, Alisa seems like she can barely reach the far strings, yet she makes it seem so effortless!

Her musical teacher Olga Shevelevich told the Sydney Morning Herald that when she first heard Alisa play when she was just 5-years-old, she knew the girl had something extraordinary. “I was struck with awe,” said Shevelevich. “I’m still struck with awe every time I hear her play. Only a genius can do what she does.”

The child prodigy says she loves everything about the harp, describing it as the softest and most beautiful instrument. Her love of the harp shines through in this beautiful piece. I was simply blown away by this young girl’s talent!
